HOW TO bathe a busy toddler

Welcome to the very very active stage of parenting a busy toddler. And with those curious hands and feet come a very necessary need for bathing at least a few times a week. Below are some of our expert tips to make bath time as fun and enjoyable for the both of you. Remember, every child is different, so it may take some trial and error to find the approach that works best for your busy toddler.
  1. Set a Routine: Establish a consistent bathing routine so your toddler knows what to expect. This can help reduce resistance.

  2. Make it Fun: Turn bath time into a fun activity by incorporating toys, bubbles, or bath crayons. You can also play their favorite music or sing songs to keep them entertained.

  3. Safety First: Always prioritize safety. Make sure the water temperature is suitable for your toddler and never leave them unattended in the bath, even for a moment.

  4. Engage Them: Keep your toddler engaged by involving them in the process. Let them help choose their bath toys or encourage them to wash themselves with child-friendly soap.

  5. Be Swift: Toddlers have short attention spans, so try to make the bath as quick and efficient as possible while still ensuring they're clean.

  6. Stay Positive: Maintain a positive attitude and offer lots of praise and encouragement throughout the bath. Positive reinforcement can help make bath time a more enjoyable experience for your toddler.

  7. Be Prepared: Have everything you need within arm's reach before you start the bath. This includes towels, soap, shampoo, and any other bath accessories.

  8. Establish Boundaries: Set clear boundaries and rules for bath time behavior. Let your toddler know what is expected of them, such as sitting down in the tub and not splashing excessively.

  9. Transition Smoothly: Help your toddler transition out of the bath by providing a warm towel and moving them into their pajamas or comfortable clothes quickly.

  10. Stay Calm: Even if your toddler protests or becomes difficult during bath time, try to stay calm and patient. Toddlers can pick up on your emotions, so remaining composed can help keep the situation under control.
